A Structured Reset — Understanding What Your Riding Depends On
If something in your riding feels slightly off — this is where you change it.
Hi, I am Bent Rune Skulevold
I’ll guide you through the Bootcamp.
I’m a qualified riding instructor educated in Norway, England (British Horse Society), and Sweden (Strömsholm), and have worked with riders, instructors, and teams for decades — including national teams and instructor education.
My focus is simple:
To help you understand what you feel in your horse —
so you can create clarity, improve your riding, and build better cooperation.
This is not about adding more.
It’s about making what you already do — work better.

New riders are currently joining and integrating into the existing group — so you can step into a process that is already in motion.
Phase 1 – Orientation & Awareness
– Understand your current riding
– Identify what you are feeling
– Set direction for your work
Phase 2 – Structured Training
– Work with Straightness, Transitions, and Half Halt
– Apply directly in your daily riding
– Develop clarity through focused tasks
Phase 3 – Integration & Progress
– Strengthen changes
– Refine your feel and timing
– Build a more consistent and cooperative horse
Flexible Learning for Riders With Full Lives
The Bootcamp is designed to fit into your daily riding — not compete with it.
– No mandatory live meetings
– No fixed attendance requirements
– Short, focused guidance you can apply immediately
– Time to ride, reflect, and develop in your own training
– Optional live sessions are recorded
You stay in your normal rhythm —
but with more clarity and direction.
If You Recognise One or More of These…
Most riders experience several of these at the same time.
They don’t come from separate problems.
They point to the same underlying causes.
Why This Works — For You and Your Horse
Riders Who Benefit

This is for riders who:
Not by adding more exercises.
But by understanding what is actually happening.
What riders are experiencing right now inside the Bootcamp:
– First canter to tölt transitions
– Clearer contact and lighter connection
– Horses becoming more forward and easier to ride
– A more stable and improved outline — without forcing it
– Long-standing problems starting to resolve
Not because they are doing more.
But because they are starting to understand what they feel — and where it actually begins.
How the Bootcamp Works
You move through this at your own pace —
with guidance and structure along the way.
The Bootcamp is conducted in English, and most riders find it easy to follow.
If something is unclear, I’m happy to support and clarify.
– Your horse feels heavy in the contact
– One rein feels stronger than the other
– The half halt doesn’t really change anything
– Your horse falls in or out through the shoulder
– Transitions feel unclear or inconsistent
– Canter strike-offs are unreliable
– Your horse does not go willingly into tölt
– Tölt drifts toward trot or pace
– Collection in tölt creates tension instead of lightness
– Your horse does not feel like it is using the back correctly
– The hind legs don’t feel active enough
– Your aids feel unclear or are not fully understood
– Your horse feels tense, resistant, or inconsistent
Most riders try to fix one symptom at a time.
But most riding problems don’t start where you feel them.
They start earlier — in balance, preparation, and coordination.
That’s why nothing really changes.
You fix one thing… and something else appears.
---
Inside the Bootcamp, we don’t start with exercises.
We start with understanding.
→ What is actually happening
→ Where it begins
→ What needs to change first
When that becomes clear,
many things begin to change — often faster than expected.
Not because you are doing more.
But because you are working on what everything else depends on.
This is not created by forcing the outline.
It emerges when the foundation is in place.
– Feel that something is not quite right — even if they can’t fully explain it
– Want clarity instead of more random input
– Are ready to work with structure in their daily riding
– Care about doing right by their horse
– Want to understand what and why — not just what to do
---
Whether you are experienced and refining —
or returning to riding and rebuilding on solid foundations —
This is about understanding what your riding depends on.
This is not for riders looking for quick fixes —
but for those who want to learn the craft of riding.
If you want to change how this season feels — this is the moment to start.
The Bootcamp is built around a focused 2–3 week active training period — where I guide you in understanding and working with your next steps, followed by time to continue applying and integrating it into your riding.
